Heart of Forest Hill
We were asked to rebuild the front and back gardens of this recently renovated house in Forest Hill to accommodate a family of 5 with a rambunctious puppy. For a timeless design, we used luxurious and hard-working architectural materials like blackened steel, hand-sawn natural stone and tailored cedar fencing and garden architecture throughout this residential landscape. At the front we integrated a beautiful mature street tree in an oversized steel planter which doubles as a retaining wall to streamline the different elevations for a carefully considered entry to the elegant Victorian porch. The simple planting palette of green and white in the back garden consists of mature hornbeam hedging and mass-plantings of variegated native grasses and flowering shrubs to ensure its low-maintenance beauty will endure, and to contrast the new dark granite stone patio and painted black woodwork.
