Treetop Garden

The landscape architecture for this challenging project in Riverdale romanticizes the outdoor spaces for an existing hillside residence. Cantilevered over a steep escarpment, the expansive deck with glass panels becomes an exterior extension of the house as a lounging platform with sublime downtown views. The experiential journey through the urban garden is unexpectedly rich and magical as the generous stairs and landing wind their way down and around the spectacular mature Pines of the landscape. At the lowest level of the garden the stairs transition to a creamy limestone path that leads to an ancient coachhouse through a lush woodland garden.
